Following in the cleated footsteps of his father and grandfather, Tim began swinging the golf club at the young age of seven. His first lesson came soon there after from PGA Professional, Tom Kabler at Westmoor Country Club in Brookfield, WI. Tim credits Westmoor Country Club, and it’s members, as the biggest influence in his life as a golfer, and a person. There he would have watched his grandfather play, learned from the Club Pros, heeded the sage advice of seasoned members, to eventually working in the pro shop and learning the ropes as an adult.
A golf scholarship led Tim to the University Of Mississippi (Ole Miss) where he served as team captain in his senior year. During Tim's amateur career, Tim was able to win a collegiate event at Ole Miss and captured the Wisconsin State Amateur. Just after turning Pro, Tim received a Life-Time Honorary Membership to Westmoor Country Club. It was a great honor for him to call Westmoor his home away from home when he began his Touring Professional Career, and still does to this day.
Over the next 30 years, Tim went on to play professional golf with 16 different Professional Golf Tours throughout the country, some internationally. He was fortunate enough to win over 25 professional events. Tim also went on to hold 12 course records, with a career low of 61. During that time, Tim also served as a Professional Caddy at the #1 ranked golf course in Florida, Seminole Golf Club. In 2019, Tim became a member of the South Florida PGA Section, while recording 2 wins in his first year. Additionally in Tim's career, he competed in a handful of events on the PGA Tour as well as competed in 2 US Senior Major Championships.
While Tim is continuing to play Professionally in tournaments with State Opens, Section Events, Senior, and Invitationals; Tim now seeks to give back to the game that has given him so much. During the course of Tim’s career, he has surrounded himself with the best and the brightest in the game; players, coaches, professionals, equipment, courses, etc. Passing on all that experience and knowledge to his students is now Tim’s living passion. When it comes to the golf swing, Tim believes that the swing is more of an art than a science, yet still a learned skill and feel. And while on the golf course every golfer, regardless of skill level, needs to be coachable and open-minded to new strategies and routines in order to play the game effectively and not just "play the golf swing".
Tim will tell you that the game of golf is the game of life. Golf teaches you about honestly, integrity, creativity, professionalism, and balance. Just like in life, one needs all those great qualities to succeed in it. Both come with a need for hard work and dedication to achieve one’s goals. It may not come easy, nothing worthwhile ever has, but with steadfast determination, direction and drive, they can be achieved.
